The Ask
Create a sizzle video, highlighting various creators, to coincide with the announcement of the Horizon Worlds $10M Creator Fund. The fund would provide additional support and resources for developers via Community Competitions, an Accelerator Program, and Funding for Developers.
The Challenge
Horizon Worlds is primarily a social experience, so it's crucial to capture shots with real people interacting with each other and the environment. The app is still in Beta and things such as lighting and sound, things crucial to a film shoot, don't always work as expected. Though the experience is in VR, you're still interacting with very real people living in different time zones and with different schedules. I served as the producer, director, camera operator, and video editor - managing most of the logistics for the shoot and recruiting members from my team as extras.
The Impact
The video received nearly 200K views with positive feedback from the creator community. Over 100 users participated in the first community competition, with average creation time increasing to 20% per user. Competition led to increases in creation time from participants across all creator tiers, with the most significant increases from creators who were considered to be less engaged.
